A little help
with the first pass.

Contact KHS Press at fitz.khspress@gmail.com.

The add-on is being prepared for Marketplace review. An installation link will be added after approval. This page is the public information and support site, not the document checker itself.

Using the installed add-on

  1. Open an editable Google Doc and the tab containing one draft.
  2. Choose Extensions → KHS Press Copy Desk → Find errors.
  3. Choose Story or Caption and run the active-tab check.
  4. Read each flagged original passage and its rule reference. “Possible issue” means context matters.
  5. Use “Show in document” to select the passage. The checker does not edit it.
  6. After making your own changes, run a new check for current results and locations.

What to expect

  • Nothing is flaggedThe selected patterns did not detect an issue. This is not a complete grammar or fact check.
  • A quote contains a flagQuoted passages are identified for verification against reporting notes, not automatic alteration.
  • A location no longer worksEdits or a switch to another document tab invalidate the earlier result. The current tab needs a fresh check.
  • A paragraph label looks wrongThe LQTQ map infers roles from position and quotation marks. It cannot fully interpret story meaning.
  • Some content is excludedHeadings and tables are optional. Headers, footers, footnotes, drawings and smart-chip content are outside the check. Each draft is limited to 50,000 checked characters and 500 nonempty paragraphs; at most 500 flags are shown.

Reporting a problem

Send the error message and a brief description of what happened. A short fictional example is helpful. Avoid sending a student’s personal information or an entire real draft unless you intend to share it. Support correspondence is covered by the privacy policy.
